Trey Lauderdale to discuss the future of healthcare

Lauderdale has been participating in the collaboration summit, which has been held across a select group of U.S. cities throughout the summer. This year's final road show will be held Sept. 15 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

Lauderdale will discuss how BlackBerry ‘SIM-optional' WiFi smartphones with nurse call, telemetry and VoIP capabilities are empowering clinicians with the information and communication capabilities they need to improve productivity, quality and safety.

"Nurses walk an average of four to five miles during a 12-hour shift, which has raised questions around fatigue, efficiency, and the impact on the quality of care," Lauderdale said. "Studies suggest up to 30 percent of hospital staff time could be recaptured with unified communication solutions at the point of care."

The event will also include a BlackBerry roadmap, a customer session on clinical collaboration, a HIPAA compliance session, presentations from a BlackBerry Alliance Member on pager replacement and a panel discussion on Electronic Health Records.
