UW Health to Use OnBase Software
UW Hospital and Clinics Ranked among "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News and World Report
Hyland Software, the developer of OnBase®, was chosen by UW Health (including University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics) to use as part of the academic medical center's electronic medical record (EMR) by integrating with its current applications.
Recognized by U.S. News and World Report among "America's Best Hospitals" and as a Thomson 100 Top Hospital, the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics has begun its initiative at patient registration with paperless admitting. Eliminating paper from the registration process is aimed at reducing the delays and costs associated with duplicating and distributing paper copies.
OnBase will be used in clinical care through an integration with current applications. A patient's complete medical record is expected to be available from any UW Health clinical location. The OnBase integration is designed so that UW Health clinicians have access to the information stored natively in other applications and documentation that typically resides outside of an EMR. Those documents will be presented through the OnBase interface with current applications.
UW Health may use the document management solution also in the business office, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, human resources and legal.
"By providing instant, secure access to the entire patient record from a single interface, this solution is designed to allow caregivers to work more efficiently and more confidently, knowing they have the information they require just a click away," explained Tim Tegeder, Director of Healthcare Solutions at Hyland Software. "We are excited to have UW Health join our member community of nearly 700 healthcare customers."
