United Regional Health Care System Selects iSirona For Medical Device Integration
Texas Hospital to Streamline Delivery of Device Data to AllScripts Sunrise Clinical Manager
iSirona, a provider of simplified solutions for medical device integration, recently announced that United Regional Health Care System has signed an enterprise license agreement to implement iSirona's device connectivity solution. Located in Wichita Falls, Texas, United Regional is a full-service hospital serving a nine-county area in North Texas. United Regional is committed to investing in information technologies, such as iSirona, to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
iSirona provides a software-based solution that enables hospitals to integrate patient data from virtually any medical device into the electronic medical record. United Regional will be leveraging that technology to deliver patient data from a variety of devices into its AllScripts clinical information system.
"iSirona's connectivity solution will virtually eliminate the need to hand transcribe the data generated by our medical devices," explains Chief Nursing Officer Pam Bradshaw. "Having that patient data available in the EMR sooner will give clinicians access to more accurate information about their patients, which, in turn, will allow them to make better-informed decisions regarding patient care."
"We are pleased to take part in United Regional's integration efforts," says Peter Witonsky, president of iSirona. "Based on our work with other hospitals, we are confident that doing so will contribute to better workflows for their hospital and improved outcomes for their patients."
United Regional plans to connect 60 devices in phase one of their implementation, which is slated for early fall of 2011.
