triCerat Launches Next Generation Of Remote Scanning Software
The creator of the revolutionary ScrewDrivers print management technology, software developer triCerat, Inc., has released the next generation of its groundbreaking Scanect remote scanning software.
Designed specifically for organizations that rely on scanning as part of their everyday operations – such as those in the healthcare industry – Scanect fixes remote scanning access to provide a seamless experience that speeds scanning without sacrificing bandwidth or image quality.
Launched earlier this year, Scanect works by querying local scanners for capabilities such as resolution and supported paper sizes, then forwards the scanned product to be virtualized on the server or virtual desktop.
The newly released Scanect v1.2 software provides greater support for remote scanning environments with enhanced controls and configurability for IT system administrators and an improved user experience. Highlights include:
- Server administrator control, which restricts certain properties of the scanner such as the ability to raise or lower the DPI options and manage color and scan type in order to control bandwidth usage;
- Scanner profiles, which allows system administrators to create profiles with certain specifications (such as DPI levels and color) to provide users with a greater selection of scanner options; and
- Multiple client-side scanner support, which increases the number of scanners that can be supported.
“Scanect v1.2 alleviates user frustration caused by painfully slow or completely failed scanner jobs,” explains Andrew Parlette, triCerat’s Vice President of Product Development. “It also saves system administrators time by eliminating the need to manage scanner drivers and provides an enhanced console for improved control.”
