The Digital Health Awards -- incorporating the former Web Health Awards and Web Health Awards|Mobile competitions -- received more than 500 entries for the Spring 2015 competition.

"A recent Rock Health article noted that the number of healthcare apps in the U.S. now exceeds 165,000 -- a staggering figure. One of the goals of our newly expanded Digital Health Awards competition is to recognize the best healthcare apps for consumers and professionals that are available from among these 165,000 apps now on the market," adds Chris Behrend, awards program director.

Because of the dynamic nature of online health materials and resources, the Digital Health Awards competition is held twice each year, Spring and Fall. The Fall 2015 entry deadline is October 9th.

There are more than 80 digital health entry categories in the fall competition. Categories include Web-based digital health, mobile digital health, personal digital health devices/wearables, digital health media, digital health social media, and connected digital health. The Digital Health Awards competition is organized by the Health Information Resource Center (HIRC), a 22-year-old national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health markets. Other well-known HIRC programs include the National Health Information Awards and National Women's Health & Fitness Day.
