TigerText HIPAA Compliance Statement

TigerText provides customers with the tools, services and products to facilitate compliance with HIPAA regulations.

TigerText is neither a Covered Entity nor a Business Associate. Specifically, as stated in the Federal Register, Vol. 75, No. 134, p. 40873, “…entities that act as mere conduits for the transportation of protected health information but do not access the information other than on a random or infrequent basis are not business associates” (also see: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/faq/smaller_providers_and_ businesses/245.html). TigerText provides a secure and private conduit and does not routinely access protected health information (PHI), therefore, the HIPAA security and privacy requirements do not apply to TigerText directly.
