TeraMedica Signs Agreement With United Hospital System, Based In Kenosha, WI, For Its Evercore - Vendor Neutral Architecture

Evercore Smartstore and Evercore Univision Zero-Download Viewer to be Deployed

TeraMedica, Inc. announced that following the signing of an agreement between the parties on December 23rd, 2011, United Hospital System will implement TeraMedica's Evercore Smartstore and Evercore Univision DICOM and non-DICOM modules in mid-to-late 2012.

"United Hospital System wanted web based browser viewing of non-diagnostic converted DICOM medical images and access to non-DICOM objects to departmental and enterprise users," said Jim Prekop, TeraMedica's President and CEO. "The primary use of Univision is for referring physicians, general practitioners, and other caregivers to obtain a simple view of a representation of the DICOM images, along with those non-DICOM objects associated with their patient cases. We believe United Hospital System will greatly benefit from our Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite and discover the system to be extremely cost-effective."

United Hospital System's Senior Director of Information Services, Sue Peterson, commented, "Our goal of providing the best care to our patients is made possible through our highly qualified and well-trained physicians, medical professionals and support staff using state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment."

Evercore integrates and manages patient-centric clinical content in the clinical and research settings including standard DICOM objects across wide geographies. Evercore also possesses the ability to natively manage and distribute beyond DICOM using global standards such as MPG, JPG, PDF and many other critical clinical content such as treatment plans for cancer care or vital reports in non-standard formats.

TeraMedica's patented Smartstore module intelligently manages the total image lifecycle of DICOM and beyond. The Univision module provides a multi-layer, zero-download image viewer, with seamless integration to any EMR/EHR/PHR/RHIO. TeraMedica's vendor-independent platform connects multiple PACS to any storage system, thus ending cumbersome data migration.
