TeraMedica Signs Agreement With Milwaukee-Based Froedtert Health For Its Evercore - Enterprise Vendor Neutral Architecture (VNA)

TeraMedica's Evercore brings Together Multiple Imaging Technologies to Help Physicians Diagnose and Treat Patients

TeraMedica announced that following the signing of an agreement between the parties on December 5th, 2010, Froedtert Health began installation TeraMedica's Evercore Enterprise Vendor Neutral Architecture (VNA) on January 28th, 2011. Froedtert Health is a regional health care organization based in southeastern Wisconsin.

"Froedtert Health is truly ahead of the curve when it comes to scalable, vendor neutral architecture," said Jim Prekop, TeraMedica CEO. "We are extremely pleased to provide our patient-centered solution, Evercore, to positively impact patient care at Froedtert Health."

Added Prekop, "This implementation was driven by the clinical need for a patient-centered platform, and would enable greater procedural efficiency across Froedtert Health's in-hospital and associated delivery networks. By utilizing Evercore, Froedtert Health should see immediate increases in efficiency, accuracy and patient satisfaction, and decreases in time, manual labor and disparate system costs across all departments."

"At Froedtert Health, we have several disparate imaging systems and the need to manage large-scale content in an efficient manner. The concept of one consolidated patient-centric imaging folder, incorporating DICOM and other vital clinical content beyond DICOM, was very appealing," said Bob DeGrand, Chief Information Officer of Froedtert Health."I believe this software will solve the patient-centered folder approach while also optimizing data storage and solving cost problems faced across the entire integrated delivery network. This vendor neutral architecture will build the framework for further expansion into other areas of need and set a solid foundation for further proactive management of additional key clinical images and data. Evercore will provide the gateway to greater participation in health information exchanges, such as the eventual Wisconsin RHIO and NHIN enterprise electronic medical records across the country."

Evercore integrates and manages patient-centric clinical content in unrelated clinical and research settings across wide geographies, including standard DICOM objects. Evercore also possesses the ability to natively manage and distribute beyond DICOM using global standards such as MPG, JPG, PDF and other critical clinical content such as treatment plans for cancer care or vital reports in non-standard formats.

Prekop also commented, "Froedtert Health and the healthcare IT world in general face significant data integration challenges in the delivery of meaningful use and patient-centered healthcare. Evercore's ability to efficiently combine clinical objects in a central clinical content manager, while also satisfying the medical team's need for a holistic view of patient data in real time, means everyone wins with Evercore."
