SSI Group Renews HFMA Peer Reviewed Designation

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) recently announced that, following rigorous review, The SSI Group, Inc. has once again consistently met the "Peer Reviewed by HFMA" standard. HFMA recently reviewed SSI as part of the annual evaluation process necessary to maintain SSI's ClickON Billing HFMA Peer Reviewed designation.

SSI's ClickON Billing software streamlines the billing process with its combination of payer specific, provider specific and system edits. The billing process begins with a download of data from the customer's information system containing the institution and/or physician claims. The ClickON Billing application analyzes each claim for completeness and accuracy of the data. Information is automatically added or manipulated per customer specifications to be compliant with payer requirements. The resulting claim data is either validated and ready for transmission to the payer, or flagged to be followed up on and corrected by the customer's billing staff.

After the claim data has been edited, depending on the type of software license purchased by the customer, the ClickON Billing application can be programmed to either electronically transmit edited claims directly to the payers or to SSI's clearinghouse for re-transmission of claims to the appropriate payers. The payers' electronic remittance file data is retrieved from the payers and made available to the customer for further processing and posting. Valid edited claims that are billed to payers, either directly or through SSI's clearinghouse, are generally accepted by the payers at the rate of 98% or higher.

"SSI is pleased that ClickON Billing has once again achieved the HFMA Peer Review status," said Bobby Smith, President and CEO of The SSI Group, Inc. "By maintaining the high standards required to renew the HFMA Peer Review process, SSI continues to distinguish itself as a leader in healthcare information technology and a company committed to quality in its products and services."

HFMA's Peer Review process is designed to provide healthcare finance professionals with an objective third party evaluation of products and services used in the healthcare finance workplace. The rigorous, eleven-step process consists of a peer review panel that includes current customers, prospects who have not made a purchase, and expert HFMA Peer Review board members. Peer Review status approval of the product or service and its performance claims are based on effectiveness, quality and usability, price, value, and customer and technical support.

"We're pleased to have SSI renew their HFMA Peer Reviewed designation," says HFMA President and CEO Richard L. Clarke, DHA, FHFMA. "The HFMA Peer Review process assures our members, through a rigorous evaluation, that the reviewed product or service meets an objective third party evaluation that assesses overall effectiveness, quality, and value."
