Quantum Medical Imaging Demonstrates Three Digital Radiography Systems At 2012 RSNA Tradeshow

Quantum Medical Imaging, a division of Carestream Health, demonstrated three fully featured digital radiography imaging solutions that can help healthcare providers enhance both productivity and image quality at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) tradeshow.

Quantum’s “DRive” is a fully featured and cost effective DR upgrade to existing X-ray systems. This system offers a 17 x 17 inch fixed panel and/or a 14 x17 inch tethered panel with your choice of cesium iodide or gadolinium oxysulfide (140 micron) detectors. “DRive” features a 24-inch high resolution widescreen monitor, a 1 terabyte RAID 1 hard drive capable of archiving over 100,000 images, along with PACS viewing software. “DRive” is compatible with most conventional X-ray generators, which makes the conversion to a DR workflow fast and easy.

The company also offers wireless on demand DRX-Trays for use with Quantum’s Q-Rad Digital Radiographic Systems. By inserting the DRX detector into the DRX-Tray, it becomes instantly hard-wire connected and turns off the wireless connection. The hard wire is then used for all data communication. In this mode, the tray provides the detector with full operational power that eliminates the need to utilize the detector battery. In addition, it constantly charges the DRX battery so it is ready to perform tabletop, extremity and other wireless exams. It takes only two seconds for the system to make the transition from wired to wireless (or from wireless to wired) exams.

Quantum also showed its Q-VISION HF Series Radiographic Generators that provide high frequency imaging for efficient X-ray production with power levels up to 80 kW. Q-VISION features a high definition LCD widescreen monitor with advanced touch screen control; intuitive multi-language ability and a built-in web cam. A customizable positioning guide provides pictures and detailed instructions for technologists about how to position a patient, breathing instructions and what to look for in a high quality image. A help button on the screen allows users to access easy-to-use remote support services and information via a built-in web browser.

Quantum Medical Imaging solutions will be showcased at Booth 2853 in the South Building Hall A as part of the exhibit conducted concurrently with the RSNA meeting. Additional information can be found at www.quantummedical.net.
