Healthcare delivery system chooses solution based on alignment with CMS and experience in payer space.

CHE Trinity Health has selected Verisk Health’s Provider Intelligence solution and DxCG platform to support its national population health management initiatives. The implementation is expected to reduce risk for the healthcare giant and optimize clinical value.

A subsidiary of Verisk Analytics, Verisk Health offers a broad solutions suite to help healthcare clients improve quality, reduce costs, ensure revenue, pay claims, and support compliance. Provider Intelligence will allow CHE Trinity Health to address its “triple aim:” experience, health, and cost. “We reviewed many potential tools that could support our population health initiatives, and we ultimately chose Verisk Health because of its alignment with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), experience in the payer space, and its reputation,” said Ted Makowiec, VP of medical economics, payer strategy, and product development for CHE Trinity Health. “We expect the solution will help us reduce risk and increase the value of the care we deliver.”

DxCG platform from Verisk Health is the industry standard at predicting risk in contract evaluations with prospective employers and payers. With risk adjustment and predictive modeling, the implementation will help CHE Trinity Health in reducing risk across all domains. “CHE Trinity Health is one of the largest providers of healthcare in this country and had many options when it came to choosing the right vendor to help drive its population health initiatives,” said Nadine Hays, president of Verisk Health. “We’re excited to support CHE Trinity Health in its efforts to accurately predict and manage risk. This important relationship demonstrates the continued growth of our provider and population health business.”

In May 2013, Catholic Health East and Trinity Health consolidated into CHE Trinity Health, now the second-largest Catholic healthcare system in the U.S. with nearly 2.8 million visits annually. The result is a network of 86 hospitals and 109 continuing care facilities, home health, and hospice programs in 20 states across the country in which pursuing excellence and transforming care is the mission. More than 87,000 employees, including 3,200 employed physicians, deliver care with annual operating revenues of $13.3 billion. Yet, approximately $1 billion in charity care and community programs is returned to the communities that CHE Trinity Health serves, as the system is committed to the underserved, poor, and aging. The nation’s leading nonprofit provider of home healthcare services and PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly), the organization innovated Senior Emergency Departments.
