PatientPoint Continues Market Expansion With Five New Contracts

PatientPoint, a provider of multi-channel self-service applications for the healthcare industry, recently announced that five organizations have selected its solutions to automate key interactions with patients for improved financial and operational performance. The organizations include:

  • Florida Cardiology, P.A. – a 13-provider specialty practice with nine offices throughout central Florida
  • Southlake Orthopaedics – an eight-provider sports medicine and spine center with two locations in Birmingham, Ala., including an MRI center and a physical therapy center
  • University Internal Medicine and Diabetes Associates, Inc. – a seven-provider practice based in St. Louis, Mo.
  • Clara Roman, M.D. – a family and geriatric medicine practitioner located in Orlando, Fla.
  • BillingNetwork – a Sarasota, Florida-based provider of medical billing services and solutions for the healthcare industry

Medical practices today face a variety of regulatory and financial challenges that impact their ability to deliver care and manage a profitable business. Factors such as reduced payments, bundling of service denials and other fee reductions from payers have significantly affected physicians' bottom lines. In addition, as healthcare costs are increasingly shifted to employees, patient bad debt is on the rise, forcing physician practices to focus their resources on collecting these balances.

"With payer reimbursement declining and patients assuming greater responsibility for healthcare expenses, it was crucial that our practice find a way to better manage costs while also improving service to our patients," says Karan G. Reddy, M.D., senior partner at Florida Cardiology, P.A. "With PatientPoint's self-service solutions, we can streamline routine administrative and financial operations and boost the collection of patient co-pays and balances at the time of service—resulting in increased revenue and enhanced patient satisfaction."

PatientPoint's core offering, PatientPoint Kiosk, is a patient-facing self-service kiosk that automates check-in and check-out processes in physician offices and retail clinic environments, increasing staff efficiency and eliminating redundant, paper-based tasks. PatientPoint also provides online appointment scheduling, pre-registration and bill payment capabilities, as well as mobile charge capture applications, to help to further streamline practice workflows and expedite revenue collection.

"We are pleased that an increasing number of healthcare providers are adopting PatientPoint's self-service solutions to improve revenue cycle management within their organizations," says Raj Toleti, CEO of PatientPoint. "We are committed to offering proven solutions that deliver measurable results, and we look forward to partnering with these organizations to help them optimize the capabilities of self-service for enhanced organizational efficiency and improved profitability."
