Panasonic Showcases New Healthcare Technology At HIMSS 2014

Company to Highlight Integrated, Interactive Solutions to Improve Care Delivery and Patient Experience

Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a leading provider of integrated healthcare technology, will highlight a wide range of technology solutions at the HIMSS 2014 conference, including Toughpad and Toughbook mobile computers, 80” LED touch screen displays, digital signage solutions, facility surveillance technology and more. Panasonic's integrated technology display at booth 3313 is designed to showcase the “connected continuum of care” and highlight solutions for every stage of the patient journey including primary, urgent and long-term care, surgical suites, and more.

“The healthcare industry is rapidly evolving to embrace mobile and interactive solutions, and patients have a much greater variety of touch points to connect with caregivers,” said Scott Thie, Vice President, Healthcare and Education at Panasonic. “Panasonic offers solutions to connect data with medical professionals every step of the way, helping paramedics, doctors, nurses, administrators and more make better decisions for patient care in real time.”

As part of its mobile computing lineup, Panasonic will showcase the recently announced Toughpad 4K UT-MA6 tablet, the performance model of the world's first 20-inch tablet with a 4K resolution display. Featuring an Intel Core i7-3687U vPro processor with an NVIDIA QuadroK1000M GPU, and an advanced beyond Ultra HD 4K display providing a lifelike viewing experience unlike any tablet on the market, the Toughpad 4K performance model is built to serve as an ideal mobile workstation for professionals in healthcare environments.

Additional Toughpad mobile computers on display at the conference include the all-new Toughpad FZ-M1, the thinnest and lightest rugged 7-inch fanless tablet with a 4th generation Intel Core i5 processor available today, the Toughpad FZ-G1, a 10” tablet featuring Windows 8 Pro, as well as the original 10” Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1. These tablets are ideal for mobile healthcare workers that need a device that can withstand the bumps and drops often associated with the profession.

Panasonic will also be showing a number of A/V solutions for healthcare, including the 80” LFB Series professional full HD LED display, with intuitive touch screen technology, interactive whiteboard functionality, and wireless connectivity to allow staff members to work more closely as a team in applications ranging from training, HD video conferencing, patient consultation and more. New technology concepts also shown include a virtual touch screen display which allows users to control and access image content without touching a screen, and interactive kiosks that can help improve efficiency.

Panasonic video surveillance and security solutions, including security cameras, recorders, control systems and monitors, provide nurses, patients, staff and visitors with a safer environment. They are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing video security systems, work well in low light, and incorporate advanced features like facial recognition technology. Other technologies to be highlighted at Panasonic's HIMSS booth include new nurse-call communications solutions, SIP phone systems, document scanners, surgical-grade cameras, recorders and monitors.
