On or off campus, MRC physicians gain instant access to patient images and reporting.

For more than 30 years, Methodist Rehabilitation Center (MRC), located in Jackson, MS, has been working to enhance the lives of those they serve throughout Mississippi and its surrounding states by delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services.

While searching for a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) solution that would provide MRC with the ability to move from film screen to digital imaging, the center realized its search also needed to include a web-based system that would allow for ease-of-access to those digital images and reports now being generated. MRC found just what it was looking for in Avero’s interWORKS.

Avreo's WAN optimized, web-based connectivity within interWORKS ensured that MRC's radiologists and other healthcare professionals were able to access images and reports regardless of location. In addition, MRC found the interWORKS Mobile App to be helpful for ordering physicians and noticed a significant increase in overall report turnaround time as interWORKS seamlessly distributes finalized reports to MRC's existing EHR system.

As Mississippi’s only comprehensive rehabilitation hospital, MRC features programs specifically designed to treat people who have had a strokebrain, or spinal injury. Each program has a staff dedicated to the treatment of that specific injury or illness. And now MRC is successfully applying that expertise to an ever-expanding field of rehabilitation services for people with neurological and orthopedic illnesses and injuries.

Using the interWORKS RIS/PACS package, imaging centers, multi-specialty organizations, and radiology providers alike benefit from an increase in efficiency and productivity, while reducing costs at many points in the workflow. Robust RIS capabilities including visit management, procedure preparations support patient-centric workflow while user-friendly results portal provides an additional avenue to deliver results and nurture relationships with referring physicians.

MRC will be using interWORKS web-based worklists to provide access to studies and orders based on its healthcare professional’s activities. Front Office RIS offers a collection of modules to effectively manage MRC’s workflow and organize the corresponding information.

Avreo interWORKS web-based design provides access to MRC’s patients’ electronic health records throughout its locations via secure, WAN-optimized connectivity. It also supports complete radiology workflow to unite all components of MRC’s patients’ electronic health record, including laboratory results, and medication.
