Orion Health Launches Rhapsody Version 6.1 At HIMSS15

Industry Leading Integration Engine to Now Embed FHIR-based Interface Standards, New JavaScript Capabilities and API Enhancements

(HIMSS Booth #4435) – Orion Health, a population health management and healthcare integration company, recently announced the release of Rhapsody Integration Engine Version 6.1. The new version of Rhapsody makes it the first integration engine to implement the new HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard.

University Hospitals, one of the nation’s leading and most comprehensive healthcare systems, is focused on providing high quality patient centered medical services. The organization has the largest network of primary care providers, outpatient centers, and hospitals in Northeastern Ohio and has been an Orion Health Rhapsody client since 2013. “With eGate, some of our biggest challenges were monitoring the interfaces and operational reporting. These pain points have been eliminated with Rhapsody’s configurable web management console, which enables us to proactively manage our interfaces and report granular information on each,” said Corey Smith, Manager, IT Integration, University Hospitals.

Through continuous innovation, Rhapsody provides a comprehensive set of tools to simplify complex healthcare interoperability. New features and benefits of Rhapsody version 6.1 include:

  • Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) – JSON and HTTP Rest support within Rhapsody routes, enabling organizations to use these generically, and to also start implementing FHIR-based interfaces.
  • Lockers – A new concept in Rhapsody, Lockers contain parts of Rhapsody’s configuration that can only be accessed by nominated users or groups. Organizations will have a greater level of control over users’ access to configuration, messages and PHI.
  • Easier development – Improved tooling within the Interactive Development Environment (IDE), supporting effective code development practices and faster development.
  • Shared JavaScript functions – The ability to create, edit, import and export custom shared JavaScript functions that can be invoked by any JavaScript filter helps minimize risk and maintenance effort.
  • REST API enhancements - Expansion of the remote monitoring API includes a new API that enables users to automatically install and load Rhapsody configurations.

“FHIR is one of the most promising advances in healthcare data integration we have seen this decade, and we are proud to be helping to lead the industry with the first-ever integration engine support for this groundbreaking new standard,” said Harish Panchal, Vice President of Intelligent Integration Sales, Orion Health. “In addition to FHIR Support, our work on this latest version of Rhapsody has focused on delivering tools to support the power-users and developers in healthcare organizations who are constantly challenged to bring together data from more systems, devices, facilities and organizations every day. The era of population health has put huge demands on health information integration professionals and Orion Health is working hard to make sure they have the tools they need to ensure their organizations have robust access to accurate and comprehensive data.”

Representatives from Orion Health will be at the 2015 HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition, in Chicago, from April 13th through April 15th, and will be available to discuss the latest version of Rhapsody at booth #4435.
