NovaRad completes its latest NovaPACS installation at Troy Internal Medicine, P.C., one of Michigan's largest internal medicine groups. The installation took only two days to complete. This is Troy Internal Medicine's first PACS.
Completing in excess of 30 digital mammography studies per day and a large number of general studies and ultrasound, Troy Internal Medicine anticipates its volume to increase to more than 30,000 radiology exams this year.
"After a great deal of research and evaluation of available PACS, we know we made the right choice by installing NovaPACS," said Karen Omilian, manager at Troy Internal Medicine, P.C. "We are already more efficient in our report turn around times and our physicians are now accessing studies online, which they were not able to do prior to the installation of NovaPACS. We have almost completely eliminated the use of film and analog supplies."
NovaRad was selected because it offered a complete solution that included CR, a high resolution mammography printer, viewer/workstations for mammography, off-site disaster recovery, redundant on-site RAID 5 servers, document scanning, film digitizer and software and hardware replacement at no additional charge.
Additional benefits Troy Internal Medicine anticipates from NovaPACS include web-based access for sharing and viewing to all studies, improved scheduling and billing processes and 24x7 NovaCentral support that enables NovaRad's customer support team to monitor, in real time, all of the crucial functions of the PACS to ensure uptime and updates for optimal performance of the system.
"It is always rewarding when we stand out for both the technologies we offer coupled with our affordable pricing model," said Paul Shumway, NovaRad Corporation vice president. "We work every day to make these critical technologies available and approachable for facilities of all sizes."
NovaPACS is NovaRad's complete, turnkey PACS offering fast image retrieval, full-feature viewer with intuitive interface, and 7-year on-site archive with off site emergency back up. Full screen viewing, easy to use menus and mouse-based functions are available to help enhance efficiency and referring physicians have complete access to images and reports from any computer. To complement NovaPACS, NovaRad offers NovaRIS. Developed on the same platform as NovaPACS, NovaRIS generates reports, measures profitability and facilitates paperless management of patient records.
"The installation and training has gone like clockwork and we plan to integrate EMR with the PACS in the near future to help improve our report distribution even further," said Omilian.
