mHealth Task Force To Unveil Report And Recommendations To Speed Mobile And Wireless Health Technologies To Market

Washington, D.C. – On September 24, 2012, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) will host a panel discussion to mark the release of the “mHealth Task Force: Findings and Recommendations” outlining steps to accelerate the adoption of innovative wireless technologies for improved health outcomes and reduced costs across the health care system.

Earlier this year, the FCC convened a summit with industry leaders to discuss opportunities to accelerate the adoption and use of mobile health care technologies. Since then, participants have formed the “mHealth Task Force” to develop recommendations for industry and government action to harness the potential of mobile devices to improve health outcomes and lower costs of care.

The mHealth Task Force includes representatives from Partners HealthCare Systems, Qualcomm Incorporated, Health Analytic Services, Inc. (The Carrot.com), AT&T, Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), CHRISTUS Health, Medtronic, Inc., U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Alfred Mann Foundation, WellDoc Inc., Telcare, George Washington University School of Medicine, West Health, Verizon Communications, mHIMSS, and iMedicalApps.
