Mercy Medical Center Selects iSirona For Device Connectivity Solution

Hospital Recognized for Quality of Patient Care to Benefit from Efficiency of iSirona Software

iSirona, a provider of simplified solutions for medical device integration, recently announced that Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will be implementing iSirona's device connectivity software. Mercy plans to bring more than 150 devices online, including anesthesia and dialysis machines, to automate the flow of patient data directly into its Epic EMR.

Because the iSirona solution works within the Epic EMR, clinicians at Mercy will gain the ability to access accurate and timely patient data without significantly changing their current workflow. In addition, Mercy will be able to leverage its existing technology investments thanks to iSirona's software-based solution, which eliminates the need to purchase additional, single-use hardware.

Jeff Cash, CIO of Mercy Medical Center, noted that the implementation is taking place in conjunction with the new Epic go-live. "With iSirona's software solution, we have a clear win-win situation," Cash says. "The accuracy of our data will be much improved, and our clinicians will be able to spend more time with their patients, which is something we take great pride in."
