Leidos Health's Sean Murphy Presents At HIMSS15

“Your Data Will Be Breached” Tues., April 14, 3:15 p.m. Cybersecurity Command Center

Leidos Health Information Privacy and Security Officer, Sean Murphy, will address how organizations can proactively strengthen cyber threat monitoring and incident response during a session at the 2015 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Chicago, April 12-16, 2015. Murphy will present “Your Data Will Be Breached” on Tues. April 14, at 3:15 – 3:45 p.m. CT in the Cybersecurity Command Center (booth 8175). A comprehensive look at data security is also captured in his book, “Healthcare Information Security and Privacy”.Signed copies will be available.

“Recent data breaches show an increased likelihood of cyberattacks from external adversaries targeting healthcare,” said Sean Murphy, CISSP, ISSMP, CPHIMS, FACHE, HCISPP, CIPP/IT and member of the HIMSS Privacy and Security committee. “This calls for more cost-effective solutions that expand emphasis from prevention to continuous monitoring and quickly addressing threats which can risk patient privacy, health and safety.”

As a HIMSS15 presenter, Murphy will highlight the complex anatomy of cyber attacks, incident response and cost-effective techniques for better protecting critical systems and data from unauthorized disclosure. Recently, Trinity Health of Minot, N.D. selected Leidos Health to provide managed cybersecurity services, which includes around-the-clock continuous monitoring and vulnerability scanning among other services.  The unique combination of Leidos security expertise and deep knowledge of healthcare IT creates a powerful solution to mitigate the risk of potential and undetected security threats.

Proposals under review by the Annual Conference Education Committee have gone through a peer-review selection process for enhanced efficiency and quality in selection of the educational offerings at the conference.  The HIMSS Annual Conference Education Committee evaluates and selects all candidates with those representing an organization or non-commercial interest given preference, a guideline followed to achieve Continuing Medical Education or CME requirements.

The HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition ranks as one of the largest health IT gatherings in the world, with more than 300 peer-reviewed education sessions, a 467,000 square-foot exhibit floor and numerous networking events.
