KishHealth System Selects Medicity's Health Information Exchange Suite
Medicity solutions will enable Illinois health system to enhance care collaboration in its community and improve physician affinity
KishHealth System, anchored by two hospitals in northern Illinois, announced recently that it selected Medicity's suite of health information exchange (HIE) solutions - including the Novo Grid, ProAccess Community and MediTrust Cloud Services - to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of care in its community, promote closer hospital-physician alignment and establish an infrastructure for connecting the health system to HIEs in the region and across the nation.

With the Novo Grid, KishHealth will electronically exchange results, reports and other patient data with both paper-based and EHR-enabled practices in its community using a single exchange infrastructure. Kish will begin this effort by integrating with NextGen and GE Centricity EHRs. The Grid will also enable community physicians to submit orders electronically to the health system.
In addition to the Novo Grid, KishHealth will implement:
- ProAccess Community to offer authorized providers a single point of web-based access to a community health record.
- MediTrust Cloud Services to aggregate, match and locate data.
- PHR Gateway to connect to a patient's chosen personal health record (PHR).
- HIE Gateway to ensure interoperability with any local, regional or statewide data exchange.
