An Oklahoma hospital meets the needs of its patients through a new end-to-end patient access and accounting system.

Stilwell Memorial Hospital announced it has gone live with Stockell Healthcare Systems’ InsightCS Patient Access and Patient Accounting system. The healthcare system is expected to improve patient and provider satisfaction while maximizing its operational efficiency throughout the entire revenue cycle.

“We look forward to working with the InsightCS system as we will be able to complete our electronic medical record system,” explained Sue Panter, Assistant Administrator for Stilwell Memorial Hospital.

Rick Stockell, president of Stockell Healthcare added, “We are excited to welcome Stilwell Memorial Hospital to the InsightCS user community. The hospital provides a wide variety of much needed healthcare services in their region, and we look forward to helping them improve patient and provider satisfaction, and maximize operational efficiency throughout the entire revenue cycle.”

With the integration, Stilwell is gaining a fully interoperable enterprise health IT platform via a real-time, streamlined data exchange between the InsightCS system and their recently implemented Medsphere OpenVista electronic health record (EHR). Stilwell is using OpenVista to closely track Meaningful Use requirements such as use of Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) for medication orders, along with drug-drug and drug-allergy interactions.

InsightCS provides Stilwell with tightly integrated billing capabilities for both inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, the system also provides complete billing capabilities for both professional (1500) and facility (UB04) charges. InsightCS includes executive dashboards, scorecards, reporting, and data analytics all supported from a single enterprise database, which allows Stilwell to manage key performance indicators across its multiple systems and locations.

Additionally, with Medsphere OpenVista electronic health record (EHR), the hospital can focus on Meaningful Use Stage 1 process and patient care improvements, as outlined in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Stilwell Memorial Hospital is a full-service healthcare center established in 1977 licensed for 57 acute care beds, 10 geriatric psychiatric beds, and 7 bassinets. Stilwell offers a full range of healthcare services, including general and family practice, internal medicine, psychiatry, OB/GYN, ENT, and general surgery.

The hospital also offers emergency room, MRI and other radiology services, respiratory care, home health, orthopedic surgery and procedures, and physical therapy. An outstanding hospital auxiliary contributes greatly to Stilwell's success, as does a physician's clinic added in 1998 and enlarged in 2007. A recently added geriatric psychiatric unit creates a wide variety of options appropriate for a progressive rural facility.
