Implementation Give Patients Ability To Share Medical Data Through Portal

Saint Francis Medical Center has purchased four applications for data storage and image viewing.
The Vue portfolio from Carestream has been purchased by Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO for data storage and image viewing. Specifically, the hospital has purchased Carestream’s Vue Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Vue for Vendor Neutral Archive, Vue Motion image viewer, and MyVue patient portal.
The Vue PACS is a web-enabled device that allows for image review, data management, distribution, and archiving all in one workstation. The Vue for Vendor Neutral Archive system is a patient record-keeping system that allows access to exam results and images on a PACS and archive-agnostic, single user interface.
The Vue Motion image viewer provides clinicians with a zero-footprint, vendor-neutral image viewer that uses a web browser or information embedded in an EMR portal to provide access to imaging data and patient information by on-site or remote clinicians. The MyVue patient portal provides a unique, secure login for a patient after an exam and provides access to images, information, and reports from a variety of Web-browser enabled devices.
“Carestream’s PACS platform was chosen by our staff and radiologists because it combines advanced features and functionality with ease of use,” said Andrew Welker, PACS administrator at Saint Francis Medical Center. “The zero-footprint image viewer will equip remote physicians and specialists to easily view radiology reports and imaging studies on mobile devices from their offices, homes, or at a patient’s bedside. We believe this capability can help enhance patient treatment decisions.”
Saint Francis Medical Center is a 282-bed non-profit, tertiary care institution. The Medical Center is part of the larger Saint Francis Healthcare System, which provides services to more than 650,000 people in a five-state region.
