ibml Raises The Bar For Price/Performance In Records Scanning

New desktop production scanner and enhanced capture software provides better tools for managing records at the Point of Entry

ibml, a leading provider of scanning and document capture solutions and services, recently announced that it will demonstrate a new desktop production scanner and enhanced capture software at ARMA International's Annual Conference at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. ibml's expanded software and hardware products provide organizations with more tools to effectively capture and process records at the Point of Entry™, resulting in faster access to records and data and better-managed production scanning operations.

ibml's first desktop production scanner, the ImageTracDS 1150, breaks the mold for desktop scanners by coming standard with two sort trays, providing a solution for records scanning applications with special post-scan document handling requirements, and the out-sorting of batch separator sheets for re-use. Similar to ibml's flagship ImageTrac®, the ImageTracDS 1150 also processes co-mingled document types and sizes, has a left-justified feeder for improved feeding, and includes a front printer to endorse documents. The ImageTracDS 1150 comes with a special bundle of ibml software products, including SoftTrac® ScanDS, a full-featured document scanning solution, and SoftTrac Analytics, a reporting and data analysis tool for monitoring scan jobs and sending alerts to a mobile phone.

The ImageTracDS 1150 provides approximate throughput up to 150 pages per minute (PPM) at 200 dots per inch (DPI). It also offers 24-bit color image capture at optical resolutions of up to 600 DPI, delivering the high-quality images required for records applications. And the ImageTracDS 1150 provides users with the flexibility to simultaneously output images in the JPEG and TIFF file format.

ibml's SoftTrac Capture Suite delivers a comprehensive suite of scan and capture tools that can support most records scanning jobs, combining scanners from ibml and production-class scanners from other vendors, all under one consolidated user interface with centralized administration.

New and enhanced features of SoftTrac Capture Suite (SCS) include: alerts that notify operations managers when job performance falls below pre-defined thresholds; new in-line intelligence and output features, including the ability to detect missing documents, documents with bent corners, and documents that were not prepped in the correct order; and an optional quality control module that automatically routes batches that need quality assurance based on specific pre-defined criteria.
