HIMSS Honors Award Recipients For Health IT Contributions

Recognizing the exemplary contributions and leadership of HIMSS members in moving forward the adoption of interoperable electronic health records, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has announced the recipients of its 2009 Awards program. The HIMSS Foundation and three HIMSS chapters also provided seven individual annual college scholarships to students enrolled in health IT and management systems university degree programs.

"Each year, we see significant and innovative efforts to improve the delivery of healthcare with information technology from our HIMSS award recipients, who are nominated in the four award categories of industry service, HIMSS service, publications and chapters," said Erica Pantuso, CAE, HIMSS Vice President, Member Services. "All of us at HIMSS congratulate these individuals for sharing their valuable expertise and example with the Society and the entire industry."

All award and scholarship honorees will be recognized at the HIMSS Awards Banquet on March 2, at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center during the 2010 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition. Tickets for the dinner are available for purchase on the HIMSS10 Web site.
