Case Study: Henry County Hospital Takes Care Of Its Storage Needs With Pillar
Henry County Hospital (HCH), one of the nation's top 100 hospitals, serves its Ohio community with recognized excellence in quality of care. Its vision to partner with the community to promote health in body, mind, and spirit embraces innovative, personalized services and a family focus with a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Central to HCH's technology services is a state-of-the-art Healthland healthcare solution, which supports patient and financial management, clinical and health information management, and physician practice. The Healthland system was filling fast while other application storage was rarely used. It took an entire night to back up servers.
Growing the existing storage infrastructure to support new applications would have been cost-prohibitive and inefficient. HCH needed a centralized, easy-to-manage storage platform with enterprise-class availability, costeffective scalability, and the flexibility to optimize performance for each of its application sets. Cost control being very important to this non-profit community hospital, the two-man IT team also needed systems that were easy to manage and reliable.
