Nov. 12 Health IT Leadership Summit to Recognize Leading Innovators
Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. has received its latest recognition for industry innovation and leadership by being named a finalist for the 2013 Intel Innovation Award. Greenway’s selection acknowledges the care-delivery breakthroughs afforded by its PrimeMOBILE app for Windows 8, which provides caregivers with mobile access to patient data housed in Greenway’s electronic health record, practice management and interoperability solution platform.
The award, which recognizes companies developing leading-edge health IT technology and unique approaches to improving health and the healthcare delivery process, will be presented at the Health IT Leadership Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. The annual event was founded by the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society, and the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development.
“We’re honored to have PrimeMOBILE recognized as a breakthrough health IT innovation,” says Johnathan Samples, Greenway executive vice president of innovation. “PrimeMOBILE delivers physicians information in the right way at the right time to impact care. It’s an integrated capability of Greenway’s PrimeSUITE comprehensive ambulatory IT solution that gives providers secure access virtually wherever they are — from across their organization to making hospital rounds or being on-call from home or other remote locations. Healthcare by its nature is an agile industry, and PrimeMOBILE is a smarter platform that delivers that agility to significantly speed the delivery of coordinated, effective care.”
PrimeMOBILE enables providers to securely access rich patient data from virtually any Apple iOS-, Google Android- or Microsoft Windows-based smart tablet or phone. A brief video highlighting PrimeMOBILE on the Windows 8 platform is available on Greenway’s YouTube Channel.
“It was truly a challenge for our judges to select the four finalists from among the many Georgia-based applicants,” adds Jodie Braner, chair of this year’s awards committee. “We’re looking forward to announcing the winner at the Health IT Leadership Summit. It will be an exciting opportunity to showcase Georgia’s health IT innovators to leaders from every part of the healthcare industry from this state and beyond — providers, payers, vendors, government, non-profits and academia.”
