Extended Warranty Raises Value Of Mobile Carts

Source: Futura Mobility

One of the nation’s most comprehensive healthcare providers, offering a full range of medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric and emergency services. A team of over 10,000 employees and 1,900 doctors care for patients throughout the healthcare facilities, from primary care disciplines to virtually all specialties.

This customer invested substantial time and budget into utilizing mobile cart technology. These carts are powered by SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries that fail over time due to continuous and rigorous usage in the hospital environment. These mobile carts are relied upon heavily to deliver a level of patient care that is in line with this hospital’s standards.

Depending on daily care and usage, SLA battery cells are expected to average 600 battery life cycles. When a failure occurs, hospital staffing and manpower is required to resolve the issue, rather than focusing on their responsibilities and requirements. Downtime is not an option in the hospital environment which makes keeping all Mobile Carts up and running vital to patient care.
