As the healthcare industry is keenly focused on implementing electronic medical records (EMRs) as incentivized by the HITECH Act, many hospitals view EMR implementation as the key to automating their organization.
However, according to Forrester Research, EMRs alone will not meet all the requirements.
Their findings are structured in a Three-Phase Healthcare Maturity Model. Moving from Phase 2 to Phase 3, workflow is highlighted as an important factor. Owens will review some of the top administrative and clinical workflows that can benefit from workflow and forms automation.
