ExitCare, LLC Announces The Acquisition Of Patient Education Videos And Technology

Expansion of ExitCare’s product suite to include video library and delivery software

ExitCare, LLC, a leader in patient education solutions, has acquired the content and video delivery software of Patient Edu, LLC—an award-winning collection of over 40 hours of interactive, on-demand patient education video-based content covering more than eight specialties. Acquisition of this content combined with attainment of the Patient Edu’s Software Content Manager serves as the perfect complement to the existing library of over 4,000 health topics currently offered by ExitCare to all respective care settings throughout hospitals and healthcare organizations.

Patient Edu was founded in 2002 by Steven Graziano, who previously formed a video and interactive, multi-media production company named Veritech Corporation. In 2005, the first commercially available patient education video product was introduced to the market under the Patient Edu corporate name. Later in 2005, ExitCare formed a strategic business relationship with Patient Edu which has evolved over the past seven years. Patient Edu’s customer relationships include, but are not limited to the following prestigious healthcare institutions: The Cleveland Clinic, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center.

With ExitCare’s acquisition of Patient Edu’s content and technology assets, Mr. Graziano will assume the role as Vice President of ExitCare’s Video Business Unit and work in concert with his development and administrative team to continue to deliver the most comprehensive, highly customizable health education content to the bedside (hospital TV systems), on Tablet PCs and via the web with the “Home and Family Solution” for current and prospective video-based customers and partners.

“The acquisition of Patient Edu’s assets presents significant strategic growth opportunities for ExitCare,” stated Roger Jacobi, President of ExitCare. “We can now provide patients and providers with an integrated patient education experience that optimizes care delivery and tracks the encounter across the healthcare continuum.”

“The unsurpassed power of Patient Edu’s video-based content and technology platform combined with ExitCare’s patient education solutions will uniquely position ExitCare to deliver the most advanced level of patient education for increased clinical efficiencies as well as improved patient compliance, outcomes, satisfaction and engagement, meeting the Joint Commission and government mandates for the future,” said Mr. Graziano.
