etherFAX Integrates Xerox ConnectKey Technology To Cloud-Enable Copiers And MFP Devices And Support Advanced Document Types

etherFAX, LLC, recently announced an integration with Xerox ConnectKey, providing the capability to cloud-enable Xerox copiers and multifunction printers (MFPs) and support advanced document types. Through the integration, healthcare and enterprise organizations can send and receive fax documents via the Internet with ultra-fast connections, end-to-end encryption and guaranteed delivery.

In addition to printing, scanning, faxing and copying, ConnectKey technology supports the development of applications that can be embedded on multifunction printers and all in ones. For example, a health insurance company can add a feature to its device that allows scanning of reimbursement claims directly into their payment system with just one touch.

Providing secure document delivery via the cloud, the integration between etherFAX and ConnectKey provides all of the benefits of fax without requiring a fax server, fax kit or costly fax telephony infrastructure. etherFAX allows secure transmission between Xerox ConnectKey-enabled devices and other fax servers, fax machines, EMRs, EHRs, and health care information exchanges.

Supporting number validation, etherFAX verifies recipient fax numbers before sending, ensuring sensitive data is delivered to the appropriate destination. This is ideal for healthcare organizations that need to ensure HIPAA compliance. Additionally, the integration supports the National Provider Identifier (NPI) standard.

Healthcare providers will receive validation of NPI address types and ensure that the fax will going to the correct entity. Prior to sending the fax to the receiver, it will give the preferred delivery method and capabilities (PDF, color, color TIFF and resolution). Additionally, the integration is Fax-to-Direct enabled which allows healthcare organizations to transmit documents and data securely, utilizing end-to-end encryption.

Supporting advanced document types, etherFAX can send high resolution color documents at lightning-fast speeds. A 50-page color document can be transmitted in seconds.

“Our integration with Xerox ConnectKey offers new capabilities for Xerox copies and multifunction printers,” said Paul Banco, CEO of etherFAX. “Fax is widely used within the healthcare and other industries and this integration allows organizations to leverage cloud transport to send business-critical documents with the utmost in security and reliability.”

The etherFAX integration with Xerox ConnectKey is being showcased this week at HIMSS in Las Vegas (Booth #12247).
