Diagnostic Radiology Selects Viztek PACS And DR For Digital Conversion
Supports Rapidly Expanding Practice Opening Two New Offices
Diagnostic Radiology (Springfield, VA) has selected Viztek's advanced Opal-RAD PACS and DR system to convert to a digital radiology environment and support two newly opened locations. Diagnostic Radiology sought technology that would help support its rapidly growing patient base in a variety of modalities, while delivering quality exam results and fast report turnaround.
"We looked at a variety of vendors, both large and small, and found Viztek technology among the best. But what ultimately made our decision was Viztek's quality of service. Lucius notes that the practice conducted an extensive technology search for more than a year with a number of site visits and product demonstrations. "Both the Viztek PACS and DR equipment offered a full range of advanced features and were competitively priced. The technology was easy to use and the PACS provided a streamlined way to manage exams across multiple facilities, while the DR was equally efficient and delivered high image quality. The entire search team, including the radiologists, agreed that the Viztek technology was the right choice."
According to Lucius, due to a complex set of external factors, set up of the new offices was extremely challenging, but Viztek was flexible to ensure the project proceeded as plans evolved. "The Viztek team really went above and beyond the call of duty to make it happen," he said.
Currently, the Opal-RAD PACS supports full field digital mammography (FFDM) and ultrasound, in addition to the new DR units. All technology is fully functional at two offices and will be launched shortly at the third site. "The image quality and workflow is superb. We have been extremely happy with the results," comments Lucius.
