In the first quarter (Q1) of 2012, CynergisTek announced two solution series aimed at addressing challenges of HIPAA—Surveyor™ and the HIPAA Audit Readiness Solution Portfolio™. The company’s Surveyor Solution Series, which includes Surveyor for Business Associates (SurveyorBA) and Surveyor for Providers, is designed to ensure the compliance of “those people or entities that perform certain functions or activities involving the use or disclosure of protected health information (PHI) on behalf of, or by providing services to, a covered entity” (according to the HITECH Act).
To develop the second new offering, the HIPAA Audit Readiness Solution Portfolio, CynergisTek collaborated with Adam Greene, Esq., partner with the nationally recognized law firm, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP (DWT). In response to providing consulting and advisory services to an organization selected for OCR’s HIPAA Audit Pilot Program, CynergisTek worked with DWT to create a portfolio of audit readiness services designed to evaluate and improve and organization’s compliance with HIPAA/HITECH. All services can also be performed under the direction of DWT, which provides the benefit of legal consultation and a claim of attorney-client privilege governing the engagements.
