Cynergistek Invited To Be Foundation Member Of CHIME's Newly Formed Association For Executives In Healthcare Information Security
CynergisTek CEO and Healthcare IT Privacy and Security Expert, Mac McMillan, to Keynote Supporting Educational Program This Fall
CynergisTek, a leading provider of IT security solutions and services for healthcare organizations, announced recently that the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), an executive organization dedicated to serving chief information officers (CIOs) and other senior healthcare IT leaders, has invited the company to be a founding member of its new Association for Executive in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS). Additionally, CynergisTek CEO, Mac McMillan, was selected by CHIME to keynote three supporting educational LEAD events it is hosting alongside the Institute of Health Information Technology Transformation (iHT2), titled the, “Health Information Executives Guide to Cyber Security,” this fall.
“CHIME has always been an innovator of important change in health IT through the leadership of its members,” said McMillan, “so it’s no surprise that it’s CHIME announcing an initiative to recognize the importance of the role that the CSO/CISO plays in healthcare today. Being asked to participate in this effort is an honor in and of itself, being asked to be a foundation member of AEHIS I feel is reflective of our dedication to serving this industry.”
AEHIS is the first professional organization representing chief security officers (CSOs) in the healthcare setting and aims to provide educational resources and support for addressing important industry-specific privacy and security issues. AEHIS will also offer CSOs and other top-ranking information security leaders in healthcare opportunities for professional development and networking.
”Mac is a renowned and well-respected healthcare expert in information security and we are extremely fortunate to have him as a speaker this year,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell, FCHIME, CHCIO. “His leadership and expertise is a valued asset to our program in helping CIOs and security leaders protect our industry’s most sensitive financial and clinical information.”
In his keynote address, “What is Cyber Security and Why is it Crucial to Your Organization,” McMillan will identify current and emerging cyber security trends in healthcare, and detail the impact cybercrimes can have on a provider organization's financial viability, operations, patient care and reputation. He will also discuss how increased cyber threats are changing the ways healthcare CIOs approach technology deployment and security management.
