Colorado Regional Health Information Organization Selects Sandlot Solutions To Expand Clinical Interoperability Capabilities
Sandlot Solutions recently announced its partnership with the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO) to extend health information exchange and clinical interoperability capabilities for community-based healthcare organizations, including hospitals, large independent physician associations (IPAs), payers and accountable care organizations (ACOs). In 2010, CORHIO began implementing technology to aggregate inpatient data across its participant network. To further support Colorado healthcare providers as they shift from fee-for-service to value-based payment models, CORHIO will now leverage additional technology capabilities through Sandlot Solutions to deliver increased connectivity at the community level – particularly for ambulatory facilities.
Sandlot’s technology and services will build upon CORHIO’s existing technology platform to help participants reduce costs, manage risk and improve quality at the point of care.
“Sandlot has a proven track record of connecting ambulatory facilities across large markets, which is vitally important for us,” said Morgan Honea, Executive Director, CORHIO. “We look forward to partnering with Sandlot to enhance our current suite of services and build upon our capability of sharing real-time, actionable data with physicians.”
“CORHIO’s vision and innovation should be applauded,” said Joseph Casper, Chief Executive Officer, Sandlot Solutions. “Colorado is a leader, with a forward-thinking plan to extend and augment its existing technology platform to better meet healthcare reform mandates. We are eager to begin our work together and connect participating providers with the accurate, comprehensive, real-time medical information they need to manage patient care.”
In addition to the initial implementation, CORHIO, Sandlot and other stakeholders have identified five key projects for further development across different segments of the participant networks. CORHIO participants also will have access to enhanced services through Sandlot, including Sandlot Metrix , an analytics platform that provides real-time prompts and alerts within the physician’s workflow at the point of care, and Sandlot Care Assist , a care coordination and population health management engine.
