Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group selects eClinicalWorks EHR, anticipates improved communications between locations

Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group, the multi-specialty practice of Virginia Hospital Center, has selected eClinicalWorks EHR to streamline processes and improve communication between locations. The solution replaces the providers’ legacy EHR and will emphasize preventative care within its provider- to-patient interactions.

The hospital sought a technology solution to integrate medical, surgical, and primary care practices with labs and radiology systems, choosing eClinicalWorks due to its leadership in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions and as well as in e-prescribing. “Reporting capabilities within the EHR will help our organization both clinically and fiscally,” said Christopher O’Brien, FACHE, vice president for physician services at Virginia Hospital Center. “The comprehensive functionality within eClinicalWorks closely fits our physicians’ needs and will help us improve communication at the point-of-care.”

The solution offers clinical decision support features and alerts and will improve care with critical information available across multiple settings. “Virginia Hospital Center turned to eClinicalWorks for replacing its silo EHRs with a comprehensive, cloud-based platform that includes capabilities to support the provider, patient, and population,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “eClinicalWorks brings extensive clinical and revenue solutions that are easy to use in a variety of settings, getting practices up and running quickly. We look forward to working with Virginia Hospital Center to enhance its delivery of care.”

Serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for 70 years, Virginia Hospital Center is a 342-bed nonprofit teaching facility associated with Georgetown University’s School of Medicine.
