API Healthcare Introduces New Generation Of The Navigator Payroll And Human Resources System
API Healthcare, the leading provider of human capital management solutions to the healthcare industry, today announced the general availability of Version 9.0 of its Navigator payroll and human resources system, an application that streamlines human resources information management, automates manual tasks and empowers employees to manage their personal data. The latest release of the Navigator system features a user interface that has been designed to optimize workflow and enable seamless integration with other API Healthcare applications.
Labor-related costs can comprise as much as 60 percent of a hospital's total expenditures, making effective management of human resources and payroll processes an important component of an organization's bottom line. Fully integrated with API Healthcare's suite of human capital management solutions, the Navigator system eliminates redundant data entry and interfaces to third party workforce management systems. Managers always have real-time access to current employee information—facilitating better informed decision-making and more efficient regulatory reporting.
"By moving to API Healthcare's Navigator system, we will no longer have to create time-consuming system workarounds and will be able to significantly reduce manual processes, allowing our HR staff to work smarter and spend more time addressing employee concerns," said Tina Caramagna, director of compensation, payroll and human resource information systems at Valley Health System in Ridgewood, N.J. "In addition, the Navigator system's built-in flexibility and ability to accommodate an unlimited number of user-defined fields will enable us to configure the system to work with our organization's specific requirements, both now and as our needs evolve."
New features of the Navigator system include the ability to reprocess payroll for a single employee or multiple employees who have had changes since the previous run, online payroll reconciliation with drill-in capabilities and task-based error correction for streamlined workflow. The system also allows for flexible setup of benefit plans, where employees are automatically made eligible for their benefit plans and costs and values are electronically calculated. The updated Web-based employee portal enables online benefit enrollment and online pay statements—encouraging employees to take responsibility for their own information and enhancing employee satisfaction.
"I am extremely pleased with the API Healthcare team's ability to rapidly innovate quality solutions. This marks the third new product we have brought to market in the past four months and demonstrates that the investments we are making in research and development are paying off," said J.P. Fingado, president and chief executive officer of API Healthcare. "We will continue to aggressively add to our integrated healthcare-focused product suite to allow us to deliver solutions that not only enable hospitals and health systems to enhance organizational performance but also make more strategic and timely business decisions—ever important in today's competitive business environment."
