AMA Collaborates With Covisint To Help Physicians Receive 2010 PQRI Incentive Payments

To help physicians receive reimbursements for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) program, the American Medical Association (AMA) recently announced it is working with Covisint, a Compuware Company and leading health information technology provider. Eligible physicians can benefit from the ease of Covisint DocSite PQRIweb application to assist them in submitting data for 2010 PQRI reporting. AMA members are eligible to subscribe to this service at a discounted rate.

"Covisint DocSite helps physicians easily apply for PQRI incentive payments by cutting through administrative and technological complexity," said AMA Senior Vice President, Bob Musacchio. "Covisint DocSite is a leader in helping physicians submit PQRI data, and our collaboration is another AMA effort to assist physicians in their everyday practices."

CMS offers incentives for eligible physicians who satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services furnished to Medicare beneficiaries. Participation in the program is voluntary and 2010 is the last year for PQRI participation with CMS paying two percent of Medicare fees. In 2011, the incentive percentage is expected to decrease.
