Allscripts Showcases Innovations, Open Integration Stories At Allscripts Client Experience 2012

Company debuts new functions in mobility and integration between acute and ambulatory settings

New functionality for mobility solutions, a demo of acute and ambulatory system integration and an opening session kicked off by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel are just a few of the highlights attendees of the Allscripts Client Experience (ACE) conference will experience this week at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

At this year’s ACE, Allscripts will demonstrate innovations across its open platform. Highlights include:

Mobility
Sunrise Mobile MD II
Sunrise Mobile MD II (SMMD II), extends the clinical value of the Sunrise Clinical Manager solution to mobile devices, enabling physicians to control all aspects of the patient encounter within the hospital. It offers the latest clinical updates, secure communication, execution of treatment decisions, access to key documents, the ability to make progress notes and control over notifications.  The latest version of SMMD II introduces convenient order sets, diagnostic imaging and Allscripts very own voice assistant. SMMD II runs on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

Wand
At ACE, Allscripts will be featuring Wand’s new functions, which bring the application to the next level of mobile patient care. Wand’s new functions include: Clinical documentation, orders and charge capture. In April, Allscripts announced the much-anticipated release of Allscripts Wand, which provides users of Allscripts Electronic Health Records a unique, native iPad application that extends the most commonly used functions of Allscripts Professional and Enterprisesolutions.

Solution Integration
Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, is the first client live on Allscripts Data Exchange (ADX) 1.5. ADX is the platform that enables organizations to integrate Sunrise Clinical Manager with Allscripts Enterprise EHR. The ADX integration has enabled patient information to move seamlessly from the hospital to physician providers and vice versa.

“When we look at the healthcare agenda we're facing as a nation today, it's about decreasing utilization, improving care, making it more timely, efficient and effective,” said Maureen Kahn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Blessing Hospital. “As a community, we need to make sure that regardless of where patients see a provider, we can get that data integrated within the patient record. The addition of ADX is so exciting for us as an organization, and has moved us into the phase of seamlessly moving our information.”

Keynote with Dr. Daniel Kraft
Physician Dr. Daniel Kraft will deliver the keynote address on Thursday. He will discuss rapidly emerging, game-changing and convergent technology trends that can transform the face of healthcare.

Dr. Kraft has more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, biomedical research and healthcare innovation. His experience ranges from chair of the Medicine track for Singularity University to Executive Director and curator for FutureMed to officer and flight surgeon with the California Air National guard.
