Allscripts Hosting Solution Improves Provider, Clinician Experiences At Catholic Health Initiatives

The Colorado-based health system expects to benefit from proactive monitoring and disaster recovery services for a predictable monthly service fee.

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), one of the largest health systems in the nation, announced it has selected Allscripts Hosting Solution to provide enterprise-wide information technology (IT) through 2020. CHI intends to migrate its Allscripts mission-critical clinical and financial applications, including Allscripts TouchWorks EHR, to an Allscripts remote hosting center in Kansas City, MO.

By utilizing Allscripts Hosting Solution, CHI expects to see improved system availability, as well as enhanced end user performance, and will benefit from proactive monitoring and disaster recovery services, all for a predictable monthly service fee.

By using Allscripts hosting service, CHI is projecting a reduction in its IT infrastructure expenditures, allowing CHI to reclaim valuable data center space at its corporate headquarters.

Among other solutions, CHI will host its Allscripts TouchWorks EHR application. Allscripts TouchWorks system offers automated clinical decision support at the point of care, a configurable clinical desktop, and nearly 800 peer-reviewed Care Guides. It is a highly customizable solution with an open architecture and efficient workflows that can help providers improve the patient experience.

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) is a national nonprofit health system with headquarters in Englewood, CO. One of the nation’s largest health systems, CHI operates in 18 states and is comprised of 96 hospitals – including four academic health centers and teaching hospitals – and 26 critical-access facilities; community health-services organizations; accredited nursing colleges; home-health agencies; and other facilities that span the inpatient and outpatient continuum of care.
