Case Study: Allos Faced A Diverse Set Of Business Challenges

Allos Therapeutics, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative small molecule therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Allos has 75 employees in offices in Colorado and New Jersey. Especially with distributed employees, a paper-based system was not meeting the company's needs for information sharing and collaboration. Specific challenges included:

• Ensuring regulatory compliance for a growing volume of documents.
• Equitable access to an in-house library of clinical studies and data; many publications were checked out of the library and subsequently disappeared.
• A shared file structure became unmanageable due to the many sets of permissions that needed to be maintained by a small IT department.
• Members of the Board of Directors required access to documents for real-time decision making.
