AirStrip Enters Into Strategic Partnership With Samsung

Becomes one of the first mHealth solution providers to join Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program; AirStrip ONE to be developed and optimized on Samsung tablets, touch-screen PCs

Mobile healthcare leader AirStrip recently announced a strategic partnership with Samsung that will include the development and optimization of AirStrip ONE on Samsung tablets with Android and Windows 8.1 operating systems, as well as convertible and All-in-One desktop and laptop PCs with touch screens.

AirStrip is one of the first enterprise clinical mobility solution providers to join the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP) as a Gold Partner. SEAP is an ecosystem that supports partners in developing and providing the best customer experience for enterprises.

“Samsung’s innovative and wide-ranging product portfolio embraces a range of form factors and supports rapid, secure access to clinical information of all types,” AirStrip CEO Alan Portela said. “Samsung recognizes the need to create powerful technology that supports healthcare mobility in ways that can ultimately transform patient care, regardless of the device that clinicians are using.”

AirStrip ONE, the healthcare industry’s first complete enterprise-wide mobile interoperability solution, was unveiled earlier this year, with Dignity Health as its first implementation. AirStrip has also formed an innovation lab partnership with Palomar Health to develop expanded AirStrip ONE functionality. AirStrip ONE is unique in its ability to present clinicians with medical device and patient monitoring data, along with historical and EMR data, for faster and more informed decision-making.  Samsung will also support the development of a host of innovative AirStrip ONE features to be optimized on Samsung devices. Portela said announcements detailing these new features will be coming in the near future.

Portela noted that the Samsung mobility platforms offer both security and interoperability to integrate seamlessly into provider workflows. Samsung provides an Enterprise SDK so that a growing number of Samsung Enterprise solutions include the necessary security and feature enhancements suitable for healthcare use, a commitment well-suited to AirStrip’s patent-protected and FDA-cleared healthcare mobility solutions. In June, AirStrip became the first and only mHealth solution for medical device mobility certified by the United States Air Force to comply with the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) security requirements.

“In order to meet our business customers’ needs, we have made substantial investments in our rapidly growing third-party ecosystem to offer secure, holistic business solutions,” said Tim Wagner, Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Business Unit – Samsung Mobile USA.  “Our relationship with AirStrip is a great example of how we can jointly offer valuable and differentiated solutions that are optimized for our robust portfolio of highly desirable, SAFE (Samsung For Enterprise) devices.”
