Adventist Health System Selects HealthMEDX To Automate And Connect Long-Term, Post-Acute Care

Adventist Health System, a national leader in quality, safety and patient satisfaction, has selected HealthMEDX as their technology solution for Adventist Care Centers, their long-term care division.

Ozark, Missouri (PRWEB) - Adventist Health System, a national leader in quality, safety and patient satisfaction, has selected HealthMEDX as their technology solution for Adventist Care Centers, their long-term care division. Driving this decision is Adventist Health System’s commitment to quality healthcare and patient experience as well as desire to standardize electronic medical records (EMR) across their long-term care settings by taking advantage of HealthMEDX’s ability to successfully marry technology with people and business process.

Adventist Health System leaders recognize that the shifting healthcare landscape is placing even greater expectations on health systems to deliver high quality care that improves patient experience through delivery of continuous software innovation and the use of the industry’s best practices. An early adopter of electronic medical records (EMR) throughout their acute care facilities, Adventist Health System leaders understand the impact that strategically deployed information technology (IT) has on improving quality and safety. Implementing HealthMEDX Vision will provide a full paperless record in the long-term care environment and will also enable the standards-based exchange of patient information with the electronic medical record (EMR) solution used in Adventist Health System’s acute care settings.

“Our goal is to use technology to electronically manage care transitions and to drive safe, efficient care in our facilities. We want to ensure the best resident experience while providing our nurses and CNAs with easy-to-use tools that make their jobs more efficient and impactful. We also want it to be easy for physicians to gain access to patient information and manage their patients from remote locations. The partnership with HealthMEDX will allow for this to work and will benefit our patients, communities and employees by advancing quality of care and improving the patient experience,” said Michele Givens, Chief Executive Officer, Adventist Care Centers.

After completing an extensive evaluation for the right long-term care technology partner, Adventist Health System determined that they required a partner with a platform capable of automating their long-term care facilities while also interfacing with their acute care facilities. The commitment, industry leadership and experience HealthMEDX brings to enabling standards-based interoperability were keys to their decision.

HealthMEDX Vision will be used to automate Adventist Health System’s care management model for their 15 long-term care sites and to connect with Adventist Health System hospitals and employed physicians to provide standards-based information exchange. Additionally, Adventist Care Centers will deploy iCare, the HealthMEDX care coordination platform, to enable Adventist Care Center’s physicians to access charts and electronically manage care from any location 24/7.

“HealthMEDX is honored to partner with Adventist Health System; a national leader with a keen understanding of the impact information technology can have on improving patient care. By implementing a completely paperless clinical process across their long-term care facilities and connecting to the greater health system, Adventist Health System will be better positioned to drive smooth care transitions and maintain continuity of care. Their commitment to this strategy reinforces the need for strong care coordination and underscores the strategic importance of automating and connecting LTPAC providers,” said Pam Pure, Chief Executive Officer, HealthMEDX.
