2012 Most Wired Survey And Benchmarking Study Now Open

The 2012 Most Wired Survey is now open. Since 1999, Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, has annually named the nation's Most Wired hospitals and health systems. Hospitals may also be named to the Most Improved and/or Most Wired—Small and Rural lists.

Participating hospitals and health systems are assessed based on progress in adoption, implementation and use of information technology in four critical areas:

  • Infrastructure
  • Business and Administrative Management
  • Clinical Quality and Safety (Inpatient/Outpatient Hospital)
  • Clinical Integration (Ambulatory/Physician/Community)

Hospitals that have unique IT projects may also compete in the Innovator Award essay contest. A panel of hospital and information technology leaders will evaluate submissions based upon achievement of the business objective, creativity and uniqueness of concept, scope of solution and impact on the organization. A list of 2011 Innovator Award winners is available here.

The annual survey link and the Innovator Award application are available at www.hhnmostwired.com. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2012.

User ID codes and passwords have been mailed to all hospital CEOs and CIOs. Hospitals that need the ID and password resent or are experiencing problems accessing the survey can send an email to mostwired@healthforum.com with the hospital's name, city and state.
