Advocate Christ Medical Center to streamline clinical communication and information delivery with PerfectServe

Advocate Christ Medical Center, a 695-bed Magnet hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., and part of Advocate Health Care, recently selected PerfectServe's clinical communication and information delivery platform to standardize communications between physicians and nursing, pharmacy and ancillary teams to improve care coordination for patients.

This is PerfectServe's fifth deployment with the 11-hospital Advocate Health Care system, one of the nation's top 10 health systems.

"We were looking for ways to give our nurses more time with patients by standardizing communications between nurses and physicians," said Dr. Robert Stein, vice president of medical management at Advocate Christ Medical Center. "The new system will enable us to increase the number of direct nurse-to-physician communications, while giving our doctors the flexibility to best manage these according to their workflow. We expect PerfectServe to increase physician satisfaction, recover valuable nursing time, and improve quality and patient experience."

PerfectServe will enable a single, standardized process for staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center to quickly connect with physicians across the continuum of care. This will allow information to route faster, with greater accuracy, reliability and safety resulting in fewer communication breakdowns and improved care coordination.

"Advocate Health Care and Advocate Christ Medical Center have a solid reputation for quality, which we will help support by simplifying clinical communication and information delivery across the continuum of care," said Terry Edwards, PerfectServe chief executive officer. "Once the platform is deployed, front-line staff will enjoy a single, standardized way to easily contact any member of the medical staff, resulting in enhanced clinical integration and physician alignment."
