AdvancedMD, a pioneer in cloud technology for physician practices, recently introduced AdvancedEPCS, a new ePrescribing technology that meets strict regulatory requirements for DEA class II-V narcotics. Stage 2 certified AdvancedMD enables independent physicians to meet EPCS regulatory requirements and other evolving regulatory requirements with high levels of security.

AdvancedEPCS streamlines prescribing of controlled substances and offers strict security with two-factor authentication. Physician practices get a full audit history including what drug was prescribed, who prescribed it, dosage and refills remaining, date and time, pharmacy, prescription status, and prescription history by provider. The technology, available to all AdvancedEHR customers, automatically checks for formulary drugs and contraindications such as drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-allergy information, all offered within the AdvancedMD system.
