The healthcare sector, with over 36 million mobile workers worldwide, has all the characteristics of a market that will benefit greatly from mobile computing and communications solutions. Considering, for example, the chaotic workflows of today's nurses or the impact of errors in medication or procedural prescriptions, having real-time mobile access to critical information to support the most informed decisions represents a significant value-add for healthcare organizations. Yet healthcare service providers have been perhaps among the most fickle adopters of mobile solutions as issues as far reaching as security and regulatory concerns and mobile hardware and application functionality have curtailed investments.
