Clive Fields, M.D. to highlight practice-changing implications that support the efficacy of the VillageMD clinical care model

Dr. Clive Fields, President, Village Family Practice and Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of VillageMD, will present best practices from his own medical group for leveraging data analytics in managing patient risk at the 2016 Annual Conference of the Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS). These best practices demonstrated cost and quality improvement across Medicare and commercial patients. Using the same proven practices, VillageMD provides primary care management solutions to help physicians create the greatest clinical value every time a patient touches the healthcare system.

At HIMSS 2016, Dr. Fields will discuss how data analytics can be used to optimize diagnostic risk, patient stratification, and improve clinical outcomes in his presentation entitled “Coding for Care: Using Data Analytics for Risk Adjustment” on March 2, 2016 from 2:00- 4:00 p.m.

Dr. Fields will speak to how an improved care model using data analytics and a team-based approach to primary care improved clinical quality and yielded the following results

• Medicare admission/readmission rates 30 percent lower than the community average
• Medicare total cost of care of 25 to 45 percent below community average
• Commercial total cost of care of seven to 10 percent below community average
