David C. Pate, MD, JD, President and Chief Executive Officer at St. Luke’s Health System, will be presenting at the upcoming National Healthcare CXO Summit

Marcus Evans is proud to announce David C. Pate, MD, JD, President and Chief Executive Officer at St. Luke’s Health System, as a speaker at the National Healthcare CXO Summit that will take place on the October 20-22, 2019 at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, San Diego, CA, USA.

Dr. Pate received his bachelor of arts degree from Rice University, his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, and his law degree cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center. He completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine and is board-certified in internal medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Pate joined St. Luke’s Health System in 2009 following executive positions with St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System in Houston. He has worked to transform St. Luke’s into an integrated health-care delivery system that includes service partnerships and relationships with other health-care organizations in the region, and to ensure the financial foundation that supports the visionary development of the system.

He is committed to developing value-based care in the region. More than a third of St. Luke’s revenue is now under risk agreements, mostly global capitation.

He and his team have focused on driving quality and safety throughout the organization, and as a consequence, St. Luke’s Health System has been recognized as a top 15 Health System by IBM Watson Health for six consecutive years. This is partial fulfillment of his vision to deliver the highest possible quality, in the safest manner, achieving the best possible outcomes, at the lowest possible cost. St. Luke’s is routinely recognized as an emerging health system of note as the transformation of health care in America continues.

Dr. Pate is an author, teacher, lecturer, community volunteer, and active member of community and professional boards and committees. The father of two adult daughters and grandfather of five, he lives in Boise with his wife, Lynette.

At the upcoming National Healthcare CXO Summit, Dr Pate will be presenting a session entitled “The Future of Healthcare Systems: Moving from Fee-for-Service to Assuming Risk and Thinking about Your Competitive Responses in a Completely Different Way.”

Dr Pate will also take part in a panel discussion entitled "Healthcare Leader Speak Out! Thoughts on the Transformation of Our Healthcare System" along with his peers T. Clifford Deveny, President and CEO at Summa Health, David Jones, CFO for Behavioral Health Services at AMITA Health, Mark Rich, Executive VP, Global Operations at Steward Health and Kim Russel, President and CEO at Bryan Health.
