Lake Shore Obstetrics & Gynecology had an opportunity to integrate its clinical and financial processes when its leaders decided to implement an electronic health record (EHR). Up until then, the Chicago-based, eight-provider office had used an outside billing service and maintained separate financial and clinical records. “Keeping patient information current in multiple records meant more steps, more people entering data, and more potential errors,” recalled Phyllis Wright, practice manager.
