Practice Velocity® Achieves 2015 ONC - Health IT Certification

Leading Urgent Care EMR Provider, Practice Velocity, Achieves 2015 ONC-Health IT Certification, Continuing to Support Interoperability Between EMR/EHR Systems and Client Success

Machesney Park, IL /PRNewswire/ - Practice Velocity (PV), an urgent care software solutions company, announced today they have achieved certification to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Edition Health IT module for VelociDoc® 18.5. This certification will continue to support the MACRA and MIPS government programs and will enhance the interoperability of PVs EMR.

The ONC-Health IT Certification helps provide patients with improved access to health records and supports EHR incentive programs. "Achieving the 2015 ONC-Health IT Certification shows that PV is dedicated to our clients and the needs of the patient," says David Stern, CEO of Practice Velocity. "One of our core values is clients win. This huge effort illustrates our commitment to help our clients succeed."

Practice Velocity received certification through the Drummond Group, an Authorized Certification Body (ACB). The Drummond Group verified that PV's EMR is in compliance and aligned with the federal government's requirements.

One of the key benefits of certification is the continued support for both MACRA and MIPS programs. In order for providers to participate in these programs, it is required they use an EMR/EHR that is 2015 ONC-Health IT Certified. "For our providers who see a lot of Medicare patients, the ability to protect their revenue by avoiding payment reduction penalties is important for the overall health of their practice," says Adam Jennison, Director of Product at Practice Velocity. "Practice Velocity is committed not only to achieving Certified EHR Technology status but also to ensuring that the related features are up to our standards of speed and usability so providers can achieve their MIPS goals with as little disruption as possible."

Another benefit of the certification is the interoperability of data between EMR/EHRs. "Achieving 2015 Edition certification is evidence of our commitment to continuous improvement, another company core value," says Rick Cochran, Chief Information Officer. "This certification illustrates to our clients that we are prepared for-- and focused on-- the future demands of healthcare and the push towards interoperability."
